Who processes your data
The data controller is Daniele Arcuri. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact hello@stenne.app.
Data used by Stenne
- Documents and attachments: text, tags, tasks, images, audio, video and files you add to the app. A working copy is stored on your device.
- iCloud: when available and enabled for Stenne in Apple’s settings, documents and attachments sync to the private database in your Apple account using CloudKit. No Stenne account is needed.
- Sharing: collaboration, Stenne profiles and invitations are disabled in this version. You can export a copy and choose who to send it to using iOS.
- Apple calendars: with your permission, Stenne reads selected device calendars and lets you edit their events. The calendar accounts configured in iOS handle updates; events are not copied to your document archive.
- Google Calendar: optionally connect your Google account to view and manage authorised events. This uses Google Sign-In and the Google Calendar APIs, as explained below.
- Profile: your name, photo and colour stay on this device. Selected photos are resized and stripped of metadata.
- Support: your email address and content you choose to send when contacting us.
Google Calendar, if you connect it
You can choose to connect Google Calendar from Stenne. Sign-in happens on Google’s authorisation page; Stenne does not receive your password. Google Sign-In and the Google Calendar APIs are used to list calendars and read, create, edit or delete events according to your account permissions. You choose which calendars to display in the app.
Connection credentials are managed by Google’s official system in the device’s protected keychain. Events read from Google are held in memory for display; they are not copied into the document archive or sent to Stenne’s backend. We do not use Google data for advertising, commercial profiling or AI model training, and we do not sell it.
The use and transfer of information received from Google APIs comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Disconnect in Stenne or revoke access in your Google account connections. Disconnecting removes Google events from Stenne’s view without deleting events stored on Google. Event edits or deletions you confirm in the app are applied to the selected Google calendar.
The Google Sign-In component included in the app communicates sign-in and technical data to Google for its service’s operation and analytics. Its privacy manifest declares eight categories of identity-linked data, without tracking use: name, email address, phone number and approximate location for functionality; user ID and other data for functionality and analytics; device ID and other usage data for analytics.
These categories describe Google’s service processing according to its account settings, configuration and documentation. Stenne does not ask for a phone number or GPS access to connect your calendar. These declarations do not mean that personal documents or events are sent to Stenne servers. We have not added a Stenne usage analytics service.
For details, see Google’s Sign-In app privacy documentation and Google’s privacy policy. You can use documents and Apple calendars without connecting a Google account.
Why data is processed
Information is used to store and sync documents, recover changes and respond to support requests. Processing necessary for these features provides the service you request. Legal obligations and service security follow their respective purposes. We do not use documents for advertising or commercial profiling.
iCloud and providers
Syncing uses Apple iCloud and CloudKit. Availability, capacity and management of iCloud depend on your Apple account and terms. Synced documents are not sent to Stenne’s former cloud service on Cloudflare.
Archives belonging to different Apple accounts remain separate. Documents already on the device remain available offline in the verified owner’s archive. If you change accounts, Stenne keeps the previous archive separate and verifies which account owns the data before opening the appropriate archive. We do not promise encryption beyond the protections actually provided by Apple.
Cloudflare hosts this public website and infrastructure used for profiles and invitations in earlier test versions, which are disabled in the current release. Fastmail handles support email. These providers receive the technical data necessary for their services and may process data outside the European Union under their respective terms. Privacy notices: Apple, Cloudflare, Fastmail.
Retention and deletion
Documents remain in the local archive and, when syncing is enabled, in your iCloud. Move documents to Trash and recover them in the app. Syncing is not a substitute for an independent backup: export a PDF for reading or printing, or a complete ZIP copy containing Markdown and attachments. PDFs identify audio, video and attached files without embedding them. Save complete copies wherever you prefer.
Uninstalling the app does not delete all iCloud data. Manage Stenne’s iCloud data in Apple’s settings. Support correspondence is retained to handle the request and follow-up; contact the controller for information or deletion.
Your rights
Where provided by applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and data portability. For requests about your personal data, contact hello@stenne.app.
You may also complain to the Italian data protection authority or the competent authority. No automated decisions with legal effects or commercial profiling are carried out.

DataDash rispetta Do Not Track e Global Privacy Control, che disattivano questa raccolta.
